Software-driven systems, built on real operational experience

Multi-Weigh Technologies helps businesses improve traceability, weighing accuracy, stock control, production visibility and operational efficiency. Since 1990 we have grown from our engineering roots in production scales and check-weighing into a specialist in integrated software and hardware for agriculture, packhouses, food production, warehousing and logistics.

Systems that fit the way your operation works

Every operation has its own processes, pressure points and goals, so we do not force businesses into rigid, generic systems. We work closely with each client to understand how the operation runs, where data is captured, where errors happen and where visibility is needed. Then we configure practical software and hardware that support productivity, traceability, quality and long-term growth.

Our systems are built around real workflows, connecting data, machines and people so daily operations are more accurate, more visible and easier to manage.

“Our role is not only to provide technology. It is to become a hands-on partner that helps your team turn operational challenges into smarter, more connected ways of working.”

Over three decades on the operational floor

Each milestone sits on the line at its year, 1990 to 2024.

  1. 1990

    Multi-Weigh Technologies is founded

Jonathan Swiel founds MWT, a business focused on practical weighing and operational technology. In the same year Adcock Ingram becomes the first customer, a relationship that continues to this day.

  2. 1992

    Pallet and check-weighing systems

MWT introduces pallet and check-weighing systems, helping businesses verify weights, improve control and bring greater precision to production and dispatch.

  3. 1995

    First warehouse environments

MWT begins working in warehouse environments, learning how stock is received, moved, stored and dispatched: insight that later shaped its warehouse and inventory systems.

  4. 2003

    First warehouse management system

MWT develops its Warehouse Management System, its first major step into software and the turn from equipment-led solutions to integrated software and hardware.

  5. 2003

    First pallet dimensioner

MWT develops its first pallet dimensioner, measuring dimensions for transport costs: the foundation of the dimensioning and weighing systems offered today.

  6. 2003

    Expansion into Zambia

MWT grows beyond South Africa into Zambia, showing that its systems and support could serve operations outside the South African market.

  7. 2005

    First batch plant solution

MWT introduces its first batch plant solution, taking its technical capability into more complex processing and production environments.

  8. 2007

    Into the macadamia sector

Golden Macadamia becomes MWT's first customer in the macadamia nut sector. The experience gained there later contributed to NutLogger.

  9. 2010

    NutLogger is launched

NutLogger combines software, traceability, production visibility and hardware integration for nut processing, from intake through to dispatch.

  10. 2020

    The Packhouse System

MWT introduces its Packhouse System for agricultural packhouses: intake, packing, labelling, inventory, dispatch and reporting.

  11. 2021

    NutLogger in Australia

NutLogger is introduced to the Australian market.

  12. 2024

    Further into Australia

MWT continues its expansion into Australia, a South African technology company with systems that serve operations worldwide.

The team

We listen before we build. We configure before we launch. We support after go-live. That is how systems end up not only technically capable, but useful in the real world.

Built in South Africa. Proven across borders.

Multi-Weigh has grown from South Africa into international markets, supporting operations across Africa and beyond.

Our solutions process over 80% of South African macadamias.

How we work

We start by understanding how your operation works: its workflows, challenges, users, hardware and reporting needs. Then we configure a system that fits.

  1. Understand your operation

We learn how your business runs, including your workflows, challenges and goals, so the solution fits what you need.

  2. Configure to fit

The software is configured to match your environment, users, processes and reporting requirements.

  3. Rapid implementation

With years of industry experience and a proven rollout approach, we manage implementation with minimal disruption.

  4. Go live with confidence

We onboard your team, check data integrity and test key workflows before launch, so your team goes live smoothly.

  5. Ongoing partnership

From training and updates to hands-on support, we stay involved for the long term.

Turn operational excellence into your competitive advantage

Whether you need better traceability, warehouse visibility, packhouse control, check-weighing accuracy or dimensioning data, Multi-Weigh can help you build a system around the way your operation works.
